Blossom

I created this work for the Bruswick Street Gallery Works on paper Prize. I used collage, coloured pencil and acrylic. I wanted to create a three dimensional look (its all the rage, Im so Avatar right now;) so I used foam core to bring certain elements forward and also utilized the frame by bringing a part of the image out of it. I have included a few close ups. Hope you like it x

The Brain Series

Mysteries of the Brain

Here it is! number four in the series Mysteries of the Brain. As you can see I took some inspiration form a certain Alice in Wonderland. I figured trying to understand the complexities of the human brain was a bit like falling down a rabbit hole. I will have all four laid out together to show you soon then its off to the judges, keep your fingers crossed for me.

The Brain and Relationships

Number two in my Brain Art entry series is The Brain and Relationships. As with the Creative Brain, I have quickly scribbled my idea, refined it, then used collage, coloured pencil and felt tip to create the final piece. Only two more in the series to go!

The Creative Brain

At the moment I am busy working on the first annual Brain Art & Writing Competition. I am entering the Drawing category with a series of four illustrations all based around the workings of the human brain. Above is my very first scribbling of an idea based around The Creative Brain 'Exploring how ideas are generated in out brains and how to foster moments of insight and creative thinking'. Next is the refined final rough and finally the finished piece. This piece was created using collage, coloured pencil and felt tip. There are three more illustrations to come in this series, all based around our brains! mmmmm brains!
